Looks Great, Lasts Longer
Since the majority of the surface of Blackwood is rubber, it doesn’t fade and age like wood. It is UV resistant, won’t stain, and can be easily cleaned with water. The rubber surface also helps keep the board unified to reduce cracking or splitting as it ages. With Blackwood your trailer deck will look newer and more professional for many years to come.
Notes: Blackwood is not recommend for steel tracked vehicles like bulldozers. The only lumber option we recommend for steel tracked vehicles is rough oak. Due to variances in trailer widths, some trailers will receive a combination of 2×6 and 2×8 lumber, potentially making the pattern asymmetrical. The “spacer” board that is custom cut will not always be in the center of the deck.

Select the Right Type of Flooring for Your Trailer
We serve a variety of customers at Nationwide Trailers, and each one comes to us with unique challenges that need solutions. That’s why we offer several different trailer flooring options, including:
- Blackwood rubber infused: For traction and durability, choose Blackwood rubber infused flooring. Blackwood is a lumber product that features a rubber insert through the center of the board. The rubber insert makes loading and unloading fast and easy, even in wet conditions. Whatever you’re hauling remains stable while in transit when you choose this type of flooring for your trailer. Trailers can be ordered with full Blackwood Pro deck, or just on the outer deck so that vehicle or equipment tires can get good traction. You can even choose Blackwood on the dovetail section of your trailer.
- Rough oak: Rough oak flooring is the toughest you can find. If you’re hauling steel tracked vehicles or anything else that can lead to excessive wear and tear on your trailer flooring, consider choosing rough oak.
- Steel Floor: A steel floor on a trailer is extremely durable. Most of our trailers can be ordered with a diamond plate steel floor. This are popular options for car trailers and race trailers. A second custom option is a smooth steel floor. We have built trailers with smooth steel floors for different uses. Among these applications are for welding equipment or machinery onto the trailer deck permanently.
- No Floor: Not a common request but some customer do special order their trailers with no flooring. This is usually because they plan to install some special equipment onto their trailer or possibly install a custom flooring material.
We understand price is always a factor, too. If you want to put numbers behind your trailer flooring decision, we can provide an upfront quote to help you make the best choice for your budget.
