Tell us what you need
Before you order suspension & springs
A few things to check so the part fits the first time, or just tell us what you’ve got and the parts team will spec it with you.
- Match the spring rating
- Leaf springs are rated by capacity and leaf count. Match your axle rating. An under-sprung trailer rides and wears badly.
- Measure eye-to-eye
- Note the eye-to-eye length and whether it’s double-eye or slipper. They are not interchangeable.
- Single or tandem
- Single-axle uses springs and hangers; tandem adds an equalizer between axles. Tell us your setup.
- Kit or piece
- We stock full hanger/shackle/equalizer kits or individual springs. Say which you’re rebuilding.

Suspension & Springs FAQ
- How do I identify my trailer leaf springs?
- Four things identify a spring: the eye-to-eye length measured along the arc, the number of leaves, the capacity (often stamped on a leaf), and the end style — double-eye springs have a rolled eye at both ends, slipper springs have one eye and one flat or hooked end. Match all four and the replacement drops right in.
- When should trailer springs be replaced?
- Replace springs when the trailer sags to one side, a leaf is cracked or broken, the arch has flattened compared to the other side, or you see rust packed between leaves pushing them apart. Uneven tire wear is often the first symptom. Springs should be replaced in pairs across an axle so both sides carry evenly — and it's smart to inspect shackles and bolts at the same time.
- What does an equalizer do on a tandem axle trailer?
- The equalizer is the pivoting link between the front and rear springs on a tandem-axle trailer. It rocks as the trailer crosses bumps, shifting load between the axles so both keep carrying their share. Worn equalizers and shackle bushings cause clunking and uneven tire wear — they're cheap parts worth replacing whenever you have the springs off.
