Utility Trailers for Sale
543 utility trailers in stock right now across 14 stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri & Arizona, priced $1,698 to $16,799. Tell us the load: the mower, the side-by-side, Saturday's gravel run. We'll name the size. Call (866) 606-7477.
Single axle or tandem axle?
This is the first question, and it settles most of the others. Light single-axles are rated under 3,000 lbs. Tandems start at 7,000 lbs.
A single-axle is lighter on the tongue and cheaper to buy. It's cheaper to keep in tires, too. For one machine, a load of mulch, or a monthly dump run, that's all the trailer the job needs.
The tandem earns its second axle three ways. It carries more than twice the load. It comes with electric brakes. And if a tire lets go at highway speed, the other three keep the trailer tracking behind you.
So pick for the heaviest load you'll ever put on it, even if that load only shows up once a year. Not sure what it weighs? Tell us what you haul and we'll do that math with you. Both axle setups sit on the same lots, so the answer is a short walk either way.
What size utility trailer do you need?
Match the deck to the longest, widest thing you own. Then check the gate opening too. The gate uprights are where a wide mower actually has to fit, so measure that opening and not just the deck.
A standard four-wheeler rides a 5x8 with room to strap it down. A 60-inch zero-turn wants a 6x12. That also leaves deck for the push mower and a wheelbarrow. Most side-by-sides run about 64 inches wide. They need the length of a 7x14 to close the gate behind them.
It hitches to a ball on the truck you already drive. No special hitch in the bed.
Caught between two sizes? Take the longer deck. Nobody has ever complained about the two feet they didn't have to leave at home. Bring us your tape-measure numbers and we'll walk you to the decks that clear them.
What does a utility trailer cost?
A utility trailer is usually the least expensive trailer on any of our lots. Pricing starts at $1,698 and tops out at $16,799.
What moves the price is easy to see: a second axle, brakes, deck length, gate style, and steel versus aluminum. Pick the ones your job actually uses and the price follows.
Financing is available, and so is rent-to-own. Either route, we put the full cost of the loan on paper before you sign anything. And at this price range the straight advice is often the boring kind. If the single-axle covers the job, buy the single-axle. The money you keep buys the tie-downs, the spare, and a jack stand you'll actually use.
Prices here are cash prices. Tax, title, registration, and the doc fee come on top, and your state sets most of that stack. The counter can total the whole thing in a minute. Ask for your out-the-door number and you'll have the real figure before you decide.
Wood floor, mesh, and gate height: the details after size
A treated-wood deck is the default, and it's the right call for small wheels or loose loads. A hand truck rolls across boards, not through them.
An expanded-metal mesh floor sheds rain, mud, and grass clippings on its own, and it never rots. Lawn crews tend to pick mesh for exactly that reason.
Then look up at the gate. A taller gate lays down into a longer ramp. A longer ramp means a shallower angle, and that's what keeps a low-deck mower from scraping its blades on the way up. Mesh gates let the wind through instead of dragging it down the highway.
Gate style is the other fork: a fold-down ramp gate, or rear slide-out ramps. The comparison above the listings puts those two side by side, so you can pick your fork before you ever call.
Frequently Asked Questions
Call your nearest store and ask what just landed. We'll check the other stores for you too.
Your state decides. Texas registers every road-going trailer, but only titles them over 4,000 lbs gross weight. Oklahoma requires neither for personal use. Arkansas, Missouri, and Arizona title and register every trailer. The counter walks you through your state's paperwork at the sale.
For a utility trailer, almost never. License upgrades in our states start when the trailer alone is rated over 10,000 lbs and truck plus trailer hits 26,001 lbs. A utility setup practically never gets there, so your normal license covers this page.
What's on which lot changes as loads land. Call and we'll tell you what's standing at the store nearest you.
Yes. Aluma builds most of them. Aluminum never rusts and tows lighter, and you pay more up front for both.
In small batches. One yard of gravel runs around 2,700 lbs, near a single-axle's whole rating, and it all comes back out by shovel. If dirt is a regular job, a dump trailer is the one you want.
Yes. Standard financing and rent-to-own both work at this price range. You'll see every dollar of the loan's total cost written out plainly. If cash covers it, we'll never talk you out of paying cash.
A utility trailer is an open trailer used for equipment, landscaping materials, ATVs, household loads, and other general hauling. Common choices include single- or tandem-axle construction, open rails or solid sides, ramp gates, brakes, and wood or steel decks. The load size and loaded weight should drive the configuration.
Utility trailer empty weight varies with deck size, frame material, axle count, side and gate construction, brakes, and installed accessories. Check the exact unit specification or VIN label, then include the trailer’s empty weight when confirming the tow vehicle’s limits.
Payload is not the same as GVWR. A utility trailer’s available payload is its GVWR minus the trailer’s empty weight and any permanently installed equipment. Stay within the axle, tire, coupler, hitch, and tow-vehicle ratings as well; the lowest applicable rating controls the safe load.
